Sure, you could accomplish the same thing using other applications, and not necessarily the well-known and very expensive ones, either. There are some scenarios (depending on various factors involving particular colors and backgrounds) where Inpaint’s edits remain painfully visible, especially if you know where to look. For those relatively little details, however—say, a plastic trash bag marring your otherwise perfect beach shot—it’s usually quite reliable.
